Blackpool MAG

Well it seems like a bloody long time ago as I get my ass in gear to catch up on a few reports so bear with me as the truth is sometimes stranger than fiction…

Meet Shandy Pants! This is the rally where young? Shandy Pants alias Mike Marsden was first exposed but enough of that till later.

We set off from Cleator moor and headed south to meet up with Anne and Raj for the journey down to St Michaels on Wyre for the rally is not in Blackpool itself but about 10 or so miles outside.

So an hour or so later we arrived and found Geoff and Brian who had set off earlier. Tents up and we are off to the Barn for some booze. The good thing about this rally is all the booze is cheap £1 a can so it does away with the beer run!! The food vans are also cheap so you can stuff your face and drink your fill without breaking the bank.
Folk drinkin'
Beers are drunk and the crack flows in the Barn as more familiar faces arrive. The rock Disco is blasting out good tunes for a boogie but eventually we succumb and head back to the tents for sleep (honest!!)

Next morning and feeling a little fragile (was there a band on ??) and it's a trip to the loo's then the food van for bacon butties and coffee.

Eventually the site comes to life and some people venture off on the Demo run to Blackpool. We decide to head to the pub in the More folk drinkin!village for a few drinks after we've had a look round the site (Tracey the other half and myself). Looking at a few bikes in the custom show and there were a few interesting ones we decide its pub time.

Heading into the village we meet up with Mike, Stan and the rest of the Barrow Crew, who have been at the pub for a while before we arrived.

Mikes looking a bit rough and Chris and Jan are watching the footie so we get some beers and sit with them. As the pub was doing some tasty lookingGeoff snoozin grub it would have been rude not to try some.

Some more beers and Geoff is feeling a little tired so he stretches out on the seats and tries to dose off.

Mike decides he's had enough drink and asks for a shite of pandy (pint Shandy) at the bar though this isn't the first time Ive caught him on the Lemonade based drink (see Piel Island). We sort him out with his favourite tipple and he's happy again.Shite of Pandy please!

Soon we head to the small bar on the way back to the campsite and with a few beers on board I'm ripping into SHANDY PANTS but his chum Dave Yorke is giving me stick so I show my arse! And yes that's what's on the site - click here.
Brian and Geoff
Dave has all the latest equipment Digital cameras with video capture Harley Davidson with its own Cover (at a rally) that can't be ridden at night>…

We head back to the site with the banter being exchanged and head for the Barn were 'Pike' have started their set this is followed by the raffle and Trophies with United Mutations finishing off the main attractions.

Staggering back towards the tent I'm attracted to the small arcade room were Acoustic music is being played by two lads under the name of '6ft Hombre' who were the best band of the weekend.

Tracey headed back to the tent with the promise of me being 5 minutes….
Where's ma tent?
About an hour or so later when we had heard 6 fts repertoire a few times they called it a night.
I stagger back to my tent happy and slightly drunk, Snores coming from the various tents as I make my way through the maze of guide ropes doh! , sorry.

The morning arrives and the tents come down and goodbyes are said then its off home at a sedate pace.

Well I enjoyed it and will be back next year, with Shandy Pants no doubt!
